Social and climate-related challenges do not stop at industry, companies or countries. Climate neutrality, digital transformation and the energy transition require us to manage our business economically, sustainably and innovatively in order to continue to operate successfully in the market. We want our products to contribute to a sustainable and more environmentally friendly economy.

Clean energy from the company’s roof

On the rooftops of Huba Control in Würenlos, a high-performance photovoltaic system comprising 1,776 solar modules with a rated output of 717 kWp generates around 700,000 kWh of clean energy annually. This accounts for 16 per cent of our energy requirements and prevents the emission of around 515 tonnes of CO₂ per year.

Greenhouse gas emissions and climate targets

Huba Control records greenhouse gas emissions at the Würenlos site and pursues specific reduction targets for Scope 1 and 2. For Scope 3, an inventory of selected categories was drawn up for the first time for the base year 2024. This is to be reviewed in stages and updated where possible.

EcoVadis Bronze

For us, sustainability is just as much a part of sensor technology as precision and quality. That is why we are delighted to have been awarded the EcoVadis Bronze medal. The assessment takes into account aspects such as environmental management, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement – criteria that also play a central role in the development and manufacture of our sensors and which we pass on throughout our supply chain.

EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)

Sustainability starts with packaging. Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste (PPWR) establishes uniform EU-wide requirements for packaging and promotes the circular economy. We have incorporated the relevant PPWR requirements into our processes and document the compliance of packaging falling within the scope of the Regulation.
